Anvil Campground is the area’s friendliest, full service, family campground.  We believe that outstanding customer service and cleanliness are the key factors that set us apart from the rest.  In addition, we are the closest campground to all the major attractions, including Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. 

Why is the campground named Anvil?

Anvil Campground has been family owned and operated since 1954 and is now in its 3rd generation of management.  Our symbol, the Anvil, comes from our family's tradition of blacksmithing. The founder of  our campground and his father made the original wrought iron work (locks, hinges, shutter dogs, gates, etc...) for Colonial Williamsburg from 1929 to 1935. Our family is very proud of our history.  A display with some of the family made items is located in our main building.

Use the Local Shuttle Service

We are the only campground to have a shuttle stop from the Williamsburg Area Transport bus service.  This service connects visitors to area attractions including Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Yorktown, Jamestown, shopping and restaurants throughout the city.  The buses are even equipped with bicycle racks!

 

 

An Award Winning Campground

In a community where beauty is valued second only to safety, Anvil Campground is the only campground to receive an Award from the Williamsburg Area Council of Garden Clubs for its “valuable contributions to the beautification of our community.”   We have also been featured in Woodall's Camperways Magazine.
